Learn the golden rules for aging gracefully and naturally. This NEW course will provide you with a framework for staying healthy, fit, and happy as you age. It will look at simple ideas that can be incorporated into your daily routine focused on healthy eating, healthy fitness, healthy brain, and healthy outlook. Participants will have the opportunity to work on their own Aging Assessment Tool and what they can do to improve their aging process. A Healthy Aging Handout will be provided to each student. You will learn decisive techniques of defense (throws, joint-locks, strikes and immobilizations) as well as the development of basic ukemi (falling training) to protect yourself. The mechanics of Aikido are based on refined, unforced movements using the entire body, which allow Aikido to be practiced safely and successfully by all, regardless of age, size, or strength. No previous training is required. You should wear light, loose-fitting clothing (such as t-shirt and sweatpants) or gi if you have one.
