Certified pharmacy technicians are the liaison between medical professionals, doctors, pharmacists, insurance companies and patients. As the nation's healthcare system evolves, pharmacy technician roles are shifting and expanding to better support pharmacists, and it is essential that CPhTs be educated on a variety of relevant topics. Blending medicine, math and chemistry, students build skill sets that prepare them for a variety of jobs in the field. As part of the course work during training in our Pharmacy Technician program, students gain experience with IV therapy (a skill set most often used in hospitals) offering graduates a competitive advantage. Upon completion of our program students will be eligible to sit for three national certification exams: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), National Health Career Association (NHA), and Exam for the Certified Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). Candidates interested in this program must meet the following prerequisites: be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or G.E.D., be proficient in English and have adequate knowledge of 9th/10th grade algebra and arithmetic, have no prior criminal offenses. Please note that employers will perform background checks on applicants. Traffic violations and any other issues must be cleared up before the externship and is the sole responsibility of each student. A history of vaccinations is periodically required to work in the externship. Externship program meets 5/10/2017 - 6/14/2017. For more information visit http://marketingmkedu.wixsite.com/d128-pharmacytech.

If you love working with animals and believe they all deserve compassionate medical care, take the first step towards a new career in the veterinary field. MK Education’s Veterinary Assistant Program is one of the very few programs in the U.S. with preliminary approval from National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), and can be completed in as little as six months. While Veterinary Assistants are not required to be a graduate of a NAVTA-approved program, based on a recent employer survey, 87% of veterinary practices are more likely to hire a Veterinary Assistant who graduated from a NAVTA approved program (MK Education "Veterinary Assistant Employer Survey." January, 2016.) You'll receive support from our dedicated instructors and get real work experience at a veterinary clinic or hospital near you when you enroll in our program. During the hands-on portion, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from veterinary experts by working side-by-side with a veterinary team and applying your skills in a real-life setting. Upon completing our program, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Approved Veterinary Assistant examination. Candidates interested in this program must meet the following prerequisites: high school diploma or G.E.D., proficiency in English (reading, writing & speaking skills), be at least 18 years of age (although exceptions have been made on an individual basis), hand-to-eye coordination and finger agility, suitable vision (normal or corrected), immunizations & background check, no prior criminal offenses, and be able to lift 20 lbs. alone or 50 lbs. with assistance. Externship program will run 6/14/2017 - 5/26/2017.
