Are you looking for some new and easy dessert recipes?  These desserts are made using some prepackaged ingredients like brownie mix, cake mix, and pudding.  Katie will share her secrets with you as she prepares her most requested recipes and shows you how to make them look completely homemade. Cheese Board

Come and join Madeleine, our cheese expert, to see how to make a beautiful and tasty cheese board that will be the center of attention at your next special occasion. Learn how to choose complementary cheeses and all the other little goodies you can include to enhance your guests’ enjoyment. We will discuss how much cheese to buy based on your number of guests, which wines would go well with the different cheeses (discussion only – no tasting), fun ways to display/label the cheeses so that guests know what to expect when they taste it, which knives to use for which cheese, cheese etiquette, and beautiful trim for your display. Seeing and tasting is always desirable, so you will watch as Madeleine creates a board, and then taste and see for yourself why each element is chosen for the board. Fermentation is a way to enhance flavor, preserve vegetables and even conserve, when you ferment scraps that might otherwise go to waste. Marcy firmly believes the process of vegetable fermentation is a basic cooking skill every home cook and restaurant chef should master! Our goal is to experience several outdoor cooking methods while cooking our lunch: box oven pizza, veggie shish kabob, and pie-iron turtles. Emphasis will be on the Leave No Trace principles while cooking and enjoying the outdoors. “The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. The Center achieves its mission through education, research, partnerships and volunteerism.” Four of the seven principles will be discussed as we focus on outdoor cooking methods, fuel, foods that leave the least impact on our environment, recycling, and managing our cooking/food waste.
