For all ages, to learn skills and techniques of radio for communication with other "hams," self-directed learning and personal enjoyment. Learn basic theory, regulations, equipment operation, competitive contests and public service activities. Students should plan for 1 - 2 hours of homework each week. We recommend  that pre-high school students be accompanied by an adult or monitored. Take the FCC Technician license exam for an additional $15 paid to the instructor. $25 textbook and chart fee is included in the tuition. Gold Card Fee: $92.50.

Tony Rodkey from Countryside Fire Protection District will demonstrate how household items cause fires and how the fire triangle is connected to everyday life. The presentation reinforces the proper use of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and discusses heat sources in your home, and burn prevention. Class includes hands-on fire extinguisher training. Visitors to Italy should take full advantage of learning about the culture and traditions of the country before they travel. In this class you will learn about food, shopping, taking the train, visiting museums, getting a taxi, and much, much more. Just a few of the things we will cover include: how, what and when to order food in a restaurant or café and when to pay your dinner bill; and what to wear and not to wear, and why fashion is so important in Italy. You will also learn some useful basic Italian words and expressions that will help you communicate easier and understand signs. Learning Italy’s customs and culture before visiting will make your stay much more pleasant.
