This class is intended for beginners, 18 years of age or older, with little or no hot shop experience. Class meets for up to three hours in this hands-on workshop, and students will make four pieces of hot glass using various processes and colors. Please wear long cotton pants (old blue jeans are best) - no shorts, skirts, capris, or nylon/lycra such as yoga pants; socks that cover the ankle; closed toe shoes that completely cover your feet; long or short sleeve cotton/cotton blend shirt - no fleece, nylon, or synthetic fabrics; and bring a pair of sunglasses. Students will need to return to pick up their work three days after class to allow for cooling time. Peter Patterson Glassworks is located at 888 Tower Road, #E, Mundelein. No discounts or vouchers.

For all ages, to learn skills and techniques of radio for communication with other "hams," self-directed learning and personal enjoyment. Learn basic theory, regulations, equipment operation, competitive contests and public service activities. Students should plan for 1 - 2 hours of homework each week. We recommend  that pre-high school students be accompanied by an adult or monitored. 3D printers are one of the most widely applicable and fun inventions on the tech scene today! In 3D Printing: Superheroes to the Rescue, we will explore the basic concepts of 3D printing and computer-aided design, or CAD, to design and create our very own 3D printed superhero! B-Con/Bleeding Control is the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians' program to educate the general public on controlling life threatening bleeding. The goal of this course is to give the student the knowledge and skill necessary to be confident in extreme emergency situations. Through lecture and hands-on practical applications the student will learn to stop life threatening bleeding with tourniquets and bandages. A $25 material fee is included in the tuition.
