Come and learn the principles of beekeeping, including its history, honeybee biology, plant and pollinator relationships, and essential equipment and requirements. Dr. Jones is an entomologist, Director of the Midwest Master Beekeeper Program, and author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications. A textbook and $2 material fee are included in the tuition. B-Con/Bleeding Control is the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians' program to educate the general public on controlling life threatening bleeding. The goal of this course is to give the student the knowledge and skill necessary to be confident in extreme emergency situations. Through lecture and hands-on practical applications the student will learn to stop life threatening bleeding with tourniquets and bandages. A $25 material fee is included in the tuition. Cheese Board

Come and join Madeleine, our cheese expert, to see how to make a beautiful and tasty cheese board that will be the center of attention at your next special occasion. Learn how to choose complementary cheeses and all the other little goodies you can include to enhance your guests’ enjoyment. We will discuss how much cheese to buy based on your number of guests, which wines would go well with the different cheeses (discussion only – no tasting), fun ways to display/label the cheeses so that guests know what to expect when they taste it, which knives to use for which cheese, cheese etiquette, and beautiful trim for your display. Seeing and tasting is always desirable, so you will watch as Madeleine creates a board, and then taste and see for yourself why each element is chosen for the board.
