« back to classes page
CourseGraphic Have you wanted to try wine but are intimidated by the mind-numbing choices in stores or on the restaurant wine list? Are wine labels confusing to you? Don't know the difference between a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Sauvignon Blanc? This class will help you start to make sense of things. We will talk about and taste six different popular and common varietals (types of grapes). You will learn how wine is made and how soil type, climate and other factors can influence a wine. When we are done, you will be ready to begin your wine journey or move on from the mass produced, unexciting grocery store wines and be much more prepared for your next wine encounter. Tuition includes all wine tasted in class and a $10 credit toward purchases after class. Class will meet at Wine & Spirit Warehouse between Gino's East and Panera at 830 South Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville. Students must be 21 or over. Limit 12. No discounts or vouchers.
