CourseGraphic Every time you eat, you either feed a disease or fight a disease, so come and learn how to fight disease! In this informational class we will discuss the tips, tools and planning techniques needed to cook low carb meals including which foods to eat (low glycemic value), cooking techniques that preserve nutrients, how certain foods (low carb) help you control your blood glucose level, and the herbs and spices of the far east and how they work. Also, learn about Community Diabetes Prevention programs (DPP) and how these programs can help you prevent and control diabetes by keeping you motivated and focused on your goals. Research shows that modest behavior changes, such as making better food choices and increasing physical activity, reduced the risk of developing type-2 diabetes by 58 percent in people at high risk for developing this disease.
