The original pattern called for Lion Brand Alpine Wool Solids, but this yarn has been
discontinued. It was a low spun bulky yarn [size 5]. Some shops might still have a few
skeins in stock, but the following are some substitute yarns. You will need two balls of
yarn. One should be a light colored solid, like a cream or white. The other should be a
darker colored solid.
? Lion Brand Wool-Ease Chunky
? Lion's Pride Woolspun
? Patons Classic Wool Bulky Yarn
? Patons Alpaca Blend Yarn
? Caron X Pantone Yarn
