Carve your own Greenland Kayaking Paddle

Join us for a day of paddle carving. Participants will have the opportunity to carve a traditional Greenland kayak paddle using hand tools in a shop environment under the supervision and tutelage of a professional boat builder. Instructor, William Nash, has been building traditional boats and paddles since 2003. During the class we will discuss selection of lumber suitable for paddle carving, how to size your Greenland paddle, the tools necessary to make your second paddle at home and best practices for finishing and caring for your paddle. During and after the class we will also likely have many in depth discussions about paddling technique as it relate to traditional paddles and craft. Pay instructor $30 material fee at class.
